Placenta Services
Once you give birth, there is a flush of hormones and nutrients that leave your body along with baby and placenta. Your body starts going into overdrive trying to regulate hormones, nutrients and milk supply for mom and baby. All of which are imperative in successful recovery, both emotionally and physically, along with successful breastfeeding.
Along with the warming properties the placenta is believed to possess, there are also many nutrients found in the placenta which all aid in healing from the inside out. Three important hormones mom can benefit from are Oxytocin, which is also known as the 'love hormone and is a natural pain reliever. It helps with bonding and milk supply among many other things. The second is HPL, Human Placenta Lactogen, which promotes prolactin; a protein thats helps to produce milk. Lastly, there is POEF, Placenta Opioid Enhancing Factor which is another natural pain reliever.
Some reported benefits of ingesting your placenta, include heeding off 'baby blues' by stabilizing your hormones. It can also give you a constant flow of oxytocin. It promotes fast healing while naturally fighting infection and replenishing iron. Not only will it give you good energy as it replenishes your B6, it can also aide in getting quality sleep when quantity is not there.
